Yes, we have classes for absolute beginners!

Whether you want to climb up to the ceiling and flip upside down, or learn to slink around the pole and roll on the floor, we’ve got a class for you.

Our studios are centered around community.

We're body positive and sex positive.

We emphasize respect, individuality, and play.

Don’t worry, we also had two left feet when we started, and no upper body strength! Our instructors are trained to meet you where you are. They’ll tell you about pole culture and answer every question.

We all look silly at the beginning, but don’t worry - you’re among friends here. That’s part of the process. We’ll help you find moments of feeling fierce even in your first class.

How strong or flexible should I be before taking my first class?

You don’t need to be fit, strong, or have a dance background. Our beginner pole classes are for absolute beginners! You’ll be challenged, but we also want you to feel successful. All bodies, ages, genders, and fitness levels are welcome. We work hard to be stripper and SW-inclusive.

What class should I take first?

Our introductory pole classes for beginners are Pole Foundations and Choreo + Heels Foundations. In Pole Foundations, you’ll learn climbing and tricks. In Choreo + Heels Foundations, you’ll learn dance and heels skills. If you have pole experience, click the button below to find the best fit.

I’m packing for class! What should I bring?

For your first class, wear a comfy outfit that exposes your legs and arms like short shorts and a tank top. Fabric will slide off the pole, so you will need bare skin for climbing and some tricks! We also recommend you wear socks to class.

Next, bring knee pads for soft landings from spins and easy floorwork. If you have heels, you can bring them! In Pole Foundations, you may get a chance to wear them at the end of class. For our other intro-level classes like Choreo + Heels Foundations, you’ll definitely get to dance in your heels. Only bring stripper-style heels (like Pleasers) that haven’t been worn out on the street.

If you don’t have heels or kneepads yet, you can rent them at the studio. Your first rental is free!

Bring a water bottle too! If you like, you can also bring loose layers to wear during warmup. Some people like to bring a small phone tripod and a notebook.

Is every class the same? What will I be learning in intro classes?

Our classes are drop-in style, so each individual class is different. But every intro-level class works on the same set of Pole Foundations skills, so you’ll get a chance to come back to everything you learn in future classes. At this level, you’ll be learning fundamental skills that you’ll keep using forever!

You can try intro-level classes from different instructors, and you might learn the same move, with a slightly different style! Drop-in style classes let you find the instructor and schedule that works best for your life, instead of being locked into six weeks of the same day and time.

How many people will be in my class?

It depends on the day! Sometimes you’ll have just a few classmates, and sometimes you’ll be sharing a pole with a friend! Both scenarios will give you different experiences. Pole sharing gives your body and brain a break, and lets you connect with classmates. Smaller classes can be intimate and feel cozier, with more instructor attention, but will make you more tired!
